About Nicole Harrell

Experienced communications professional with a demonstrated history of working in television journalism and nonprofit marketing.

CAREER:

I am currently the Director of Communications for ArtsQuest, the nonprofit widely known for its flagship events Musikfest and Christkindlmarkt. My communications team supports our mission of increasing access to the arts for all and the utilization of the arts for urban revitalization. Previously, I led digital marketing for the Lehigh Valley region’s PBS television (PBS39/WLVT) and NPR radio (91.3 WLVR) affiliates. Before this promotion, I was the organization’s Public Relations/Promotions Manager. Prior to moving to the Lehigh Valley, I was the Marketing & Communications Manager for Visit Bucks County, the nonprofit marketing agency for Bucks County, Pa.

Before relocating to Pennsylvania, I served as the first Digital Marketing Manager for WAVE 3 News, the NBC affiliate in Louisville, Ky. In this role, I spearheaded the digital marketing strategy for Raycom Media (now Gray Television), one of the nation’s largest media companies. I have also fulfilled many positions in the news, production and sports departments for Louisville’s ABC affiliate, as well as stations in Lexington, Ky.

My bachelor’s degree is in Broadcast Journalism with a minor in Communications from the University of Kentucky. I have also earned a Women in Leadership certificate from Cornell University. I am an active member of the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce Women’s Business Council marketing committee, and I recently started serving on the council’s board of directors.

PERSONAL:

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my high school sweetheart turned husband Matt and our two dogs Griffin, the golden retriever, and Mamba, our rambunctious rescue puppy. On any given day you may catch me dining out at a new restaurant, taking a new course online, or visiting family and friends out of state. I was born in upstate New York, spent my formative teenage years in Virginia Beach and have a southern heart since I started my career in Louisville, the home of the Kentucky Derby. I’m always happy to chat about sports (especially if you’re a fan of the Kentucky Wildcats) or libations (especially if you know your Kentucky bourbon distilleries or small American wineries).
